Singer Songwriter ROXANNA brings her blend of flamenco, classic pop and new hits to Public Television in her new music and television project ROXANNA: EXOTICA LIVE. Not since the Gypsy Kings has a new artist brought this world music sound to the American mainstream. Chris Botti performs backing tracks in her new album, and guest star Jon Secada joins Roxanna in her public television debut, taped at the Cathedral-like venue Vibiana, in Los Angeles. Gypsy dancers and flamenco guitars mix with Roxannas elegant and passionate music. Her lush arrangements (by Hollywood veteran and Grammy winner Mark Portmann) weave classic favorites like "Hello", "Suddenly" and 70's hit "The Air that I Breathe" with energetic, ardent flamenco versions of "El Amor" (made famous by Julio Iglesias) and break-out Billboard hit original "Close Your Eyes."
ROXANNA: EXOTICA LIVE is releasing a companion DVD and CD of the program, featuring guest stars Chris Botti on trumpet on the CD and Jon Secada on the DVD performing the classic pop hits "Suddenly/Careless Whisper" and "The Air That I Breathe." Roxanna is accompanied by acclaimed flamenco guitarists Ramon Stagnano and Jason McGuire, and by The Prague Orchestra.
