For
28 years, Night of the Proms (NotP) has toured Europe with incomparable
classical meets pop live music, featuring top artists performing their own
biggest hits backed by Il Novecento, a one-of-kind 70-piece classical
orchestra, choir, back-up singers and a virtuoso rock band.
The
Premiere Episode of the best of Night of the Proms presents, from
Belgium, rock legend Joe Cocker with ‘Unchain My Heart’, crossover violin
star David Garrett with ‘Czardas’, leading lady of rock Chrissie Hynde
singing ‘I’ll Stand By You’, Il Novecento with upbeat comedic classical
favorite ‘The Typewriter,’ and the incomparable Pointer Sisters rocking
the house with ‘I’m So Excited’ backed by an equally excited orchestra
and an enthusiastic audience of 16,000.
Each
episode pairs high quality Night of the Proms live performances by
legends of rock, pop, R&B, soul, jazz and other genres with extraordinary
classical artists, such as Andrea Bocelli and David Garrett, both of whom
credit NotP with advancing their careers. The show is highlighted by
fascinating video clips of interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.

Night
of the Proms is the hottest ticket in Europe! It takes the audience on a
journey through a rousing and familiar classical repertoire, timeless pop
classics, sing-along tunes and get-up-and-dance music, all of this backed by a
mind-blowing visual and aural setting.
The
regular Night of the Proms orchestra, Il Novecento (conducted by Robert
Groslot), a full choir and an Electric Band lead by the extraordinary John
Miles, play music from the last three centuries in such a joyful manner and
with such verve, that everybody is carried away by their delightful
performances. Young and old uninhibitedly swing to the beat!
What
began as a student-like activity is now a permanent fixture in Europe. Since
1985, more than 9 million visitors attended the shows and witnessed
countless unforgettable musical moments. Now - for the first time - Night of
the Proms is bringing their unique-in-the-world show to the world, through
this television and the first-ever US performance, which will take
